This is an online community, a forum, to discuss anything crypto with other people who invest in, use, or are interested in learning more about crypto or blockchain or the tech that backs it. Ok so anyone that knows crypto knows that Bitcoin is considered the original cryptocurrency and that it was founded in 2009 by a programmer or, possibly, a group of programmers, using the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto. Well, the first Bitcoin transaction occurred in 2009. Arguably, it was conceived in 2008. Bitcoin began the new age of blockchain technology and decentralized digital currencies.

What does all of that mean to us? Well, it depends on who you ask. Some people believe that crypto currency is the future of currency. Some people think it's a load of garbage or just hype. For the record, we don't think it's garbage or hype at all. Most don't understand it and even the people who think they understand it, don't always. We aren't pretending to be experts on it either. We just want to get the conversation started and be a place that people can connect and talk about all things crypto.

Speaking of Bitcoin, yes it's the original but it's not the only one. There are plenty of altcoins out there and many of them are promising. What is an altcoin? Think of it as an "alternative" to Bitcoin; an alternative coin. They call them that basically because they came about after Bitcoin and they are not Bitcoin. That being said, there is a lot of promising tech in those altcoins and a lot of promise for a decentralized future with cryptocurrency and the tech that backs it.

What is the future of fiat currency; i.e. the U.S. Dollar? Well, there are a lot of opinions on that too. Whatever yours is and whatever your level of knowledge and understanding of crypto currency is, this is the place for you to share and learn more about it.

​

This is meant to be a friendly, welcoming, informative community where anyone can share and learn about cryptocurrency. No judgement. No one is an expert and everyone is just speculating no matter what your level of experience with it is. It's 2021 now. Crypto came to be in 2009. That's only about 12 years in existence. That's pretty new in the grand scheme of things. There have been many forms of currency over the centuries. We think cryptocurrency is the next evolution in this arena and we are excited to help connect people and facility conversations (convos) around it.
